Corporate history of Interhome
1965 Swiss Chalets was founded by two Swiss tourism pioneers: Bruno Franzen and Werner Frey.
1975-77 Both businesses come together to form Swiss Chalet - Interhome: 105 people in 16 offices.
1977 The company is renamed Interhome.
1980 Interhome is the first in tourism to put in place an information system linking all the agencies and allowing bookings.
1984 The new logo is a small bird, symbolising vacations and freedom. All the Interhome offices have the same CI (corporate identity).
1986 2 million copies of the brochures are printed. They are distributed throughout 12 countries and translated into 8 languages.
1989 Hotelplan, the second Swiss travel company and subsidiary of Migros buys Interhome AG.
1995 The Interhome product includes, from that point, 75.000 beds in 11 countries - including Germany, Czech Republic and Poland.
1998 Interhome is one of the first companies to go "online". Clients search for information and request brochures. Booking on line will be possible from 1999.
2000 The Interhome booking system links 75 local offices and 30 partners in order to provide a better service for clients.
2003 Interhome moves into the Hotelplan offices to benefit from a shared infrastructure.
2005 Simon Lehmann, new Interhome chairman, takes the reins of the company.
2006 With the new 1to1 system offers an even better service by providing clients with a personal selection of properties. Every client is considered a guest.
2005 Interhome buys the holiday specialists Casa Club, France Villas and Solemar in order to give exclusive offers of villas in Provence and Tuscany.
2007 The website is completely overhauled to make it even easier and quicker to find your dream holiday. What's more, we can offer even more information and advice.
2007 Interhome is currently present in nearly all European countries, including Russia and Croatia in 2007. Firm partners have also been taken on in Denmark, Belgium and Holland.
